As we patiently wait for prom, students at The Palmdale Aerospace Academy have taken advantage of the opportunity to ask their significant other to prom, but in more of a creative way. From couples to best friends, many of them have asked or been asked, in the cutest way possible. Promposals are essentially what the person does to ask their significant other to prom. It can vary from having a cheesy saying on a large poster or surprising them with food with the question “Prom?” on top. As fun and creative as that sounds, what's more fun is the reaction of the person being asked, but don’t take our word for it. Here are a few student’s responses on their promposals and how it all went down.

“I didn’t know if I wanted to cry or not. I was totally surprised I had no idea this was going to happen,” Danielle Molina stated when asked what her first thought was when she saw her date, Andrew Bowman, with the big question. Andrew Bowman, junior at TPAA, was quite thrilled about the making of the promposal. When asked if he had any help with the making of the promposal, Andrew said, “Yes yes Danna Lopez, she was like a huge help! Honestly it wouldn’t have been the same without her, especially with my terrible writing.” When asked about his new forever lasting memory he stated, “Oh yeah definitely I always enjoy doing creative little romantic gestures in general and I feel like that was a big test because a lot of thought was put into it a lot of planning and I don't think I'll ever forget something like that - nothing can top it.”

Danielle and Andrew aren’t the only people that did a fun and creative promposal.

Abraham Medina, senior at TPAA, asked his girlfriend Itzel Zapata in the most creative way this school has ever seen. Since it was Itzel’s birthday, Abraham decided to combine her birthday and promposal surprise all in one. “A lot of people helped me accomplish my goal. It was a complicated process because there was a lot to get done for the way I wanted to do it. Thanks to Devin Balcorta for helping me with the t-shirt and everyone else for helping me set up. Thanks to Ms. Breight for letting me use her room, to my soccer coach for critiquing the t-shirts, and leadership with the poster. There was a lot of people that went into it.” When asked if their relationship gave him inspiration when making the promposal, Abraham said, “Oh definitely. The number on the back of the t-shirt represents the date we first got together and the artist that was featured in the video means alot to us because he is our favorite artist.” Itzel was quite surprised and overwhelmed. “At first I didn’t think the video was prom related because it was my birthday and I had no idea he was asking me to prom. I thought it was just a video saying happy birthday. Towards the middle of the video I started realizing it was for prom because like he was asking questions and I just started to cry.” As for their dress attire, the lovely couple will be going with the color burgundy. Abraham with wearing “a gray suit with accents of burgundy so her dress can stand out so we aren’t matching entirely.” The high school sweethearts Itzel Zapata and Abraham Medina will be running for Prom King and Queen so don’t forget to vote for them!
