“Kevin Hart: What Now?” is now on Netflix! This record-smashing comedic rockstar has given what the fans wanted in this new movie, and that is his fantastic storytelling!

This is a review so this movie will be broken down in terms of pros and cons. A positive aspect of this film is that it is shot beautifully. This man performs in front of 53,000 people in a sold out football stadium and the cameras give you a jaw-dropping good look at it. However, before the comic mogul takes the stage, there’s a full 15 minutes of introductory shenanigans with Hart blustering his way around a gaudy casino. The mini-movie is a bit of a James Bond parody that picks up pretty slowly comedy wise. There’s a scene where Kevin hart, a spy agent, is playing a poker game with Don Cheadle and ultimately gets on his nerve. This particular scene is hilarious and things pick up from there.

The moment he takes the stages you will recognize the incredible level of energy and confidence that lets you know you’re going to have some fun. Again, the stand-up itself does take a minute to pick up depending on your sense of humor, but many believe he takes way too long on certain topics and the pacing of the show falls flat in some areas. His interesting storytelling will keep you on the edge of your seat whether a joke lands or not. There are actually widescreen visuals behind Kevin Hart to assist him in terms of using imagery and it is a pleasure to look at. A good amount of his jokes in this special are really hit and miss but for the most part it was entertaining.

All in all, Mr. Hart is officially the highest paid comedian, ever, and this movie makes that very clear. It may not be his best work, but it certainly comes close. If you’re a fan, it most likely will not disappoint. I give this movie a 3.8/5 stars for some good laughs, great visuals, and brilliant storytelling. This film is on Netflix and if you’re up for a good laugh, check it out!
