At this time of year, most of us students are stressing out due to AP tests, report cards, senior graduation and the looming fact that death is approaching. If you need need a day to relax, why not go somewhere where you can free your mind from the chaos that's happening to at school and head out into nature. With all the colorful wildflowers you will definitely have the time to distract yourself from the horrors of school.
How come we haven't known or seen these wildflower fields before? Well, due to the recent drought, most flowers were either unable to bloom or even survive in order to achieve these rainbow colors. Now that the drought has lightened up, these California wildflowers are able to bloom in large amounts, making people call this an anomaly the Superbloom.
If you want to be able to see nature's art, there are many places you can head to. The closest place that almost everyone in the Antelope Valley knows about is the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. Enjoy the long walk on the trails and the vista points, but don’t forget to bring some cash for the parking! For more information including how to get there, visit their website!
If you want to go a little further on a road trip, about 2 to 3 hours. Head over to Carrizo Plain National Monument in Santa Margarita or Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Maricopa. You better hurry though, spring won't last forever!
