Attention all writers! If you are feeling patriotic, then the City of Palmdale invites you to enter the ¨What the flag means to me¨ contest. Express what the American flag means to you! The contest will be separated into four divisions based on age; students from elementary, middle school, high school, and adults.

The essay can not be more than 500 words, the participant can only have one entry, and it must be submitted online. The deadline is May 29, 2017. If you want to enter click here and for the original flyer click here.

The winners of the contest will have their essay recognized at the Joe Davies Heritage Airpark on June 14th at City’s Flag Day Event. Each age category will receive a $50 prize as well.

For some inspiration listen to the national anthem or have a BBQ with your family and friends. Have a flagtastic time!
