AP tests can be quite stressful, especially the first time around. These tips might sound cheesy and generic, but there’s a reason why we’re providing these tips for you.
1. Eat a good breakfast
It is embarrassing having to hear your stomach growl in a quiet room. Eat something before you take the test-- preferably something that won't bother you or upset your stomach. Skipping breakfast causes one to focus on food instead of the test.
2. Do something to calm your nerves
If you go in the exam room stressed, that might cause you to freak out and forget everything. Try doing calm activities like breathing exercises or telling jokes to relieve some of the stress. Don’t try to cram the entire class before the test; just relax.
3. Get to school early
If you’re in a rush, that might cause you to have even more anxiety. Also, Mrs. Coleman advises you to be early if you are having a test in the morning, the best time to be at school is 7:30, the latest. Plus, it could give you some time to talk to your friends to relieve some stress.
4. Get plenty of sleep
This is one of the most important tips ever given, but almost everyone ignores it. How are you going to do good on a test if you can't even keep your eyes open? It is recommended that you sleep at least eight hours, but if you are able to get more, that is even better. Trust us, you will feel better the day of the exam.
We wish you the best of luck!
