TPAA Seniors Volleyball season has almost come to an end, making this an interesting, and yet memorable season. Although they’ve had some tough games in which they have not been victorious, this last game proved different - they took the win! They’ve played a long, tough season and our school is very proud of all of their accomplishments.

Our favorite seniors Jared Barrera, Caleb Bello, and Erick Nevarez were the stars of the game due to it being their last home game in their entire high school years. They made this their season by giving it their all and never giving up on not only themselves, but on the team as a whole. Caleb, Jared, and Erick were so energetic making the team excited shouting left and right, “GO GRIFFINS!”

Playing their last home game against Rosemond High School, senior night made us students realize that these guys care about sports. Winning all 3 sets and making the crowd go wild, they hit, set, and spiked the team to victory and took the W!

Caleb bello said “Well the volleyball season was great. It’s not just a season, it was an experience. We all worked hard and the team did reach a lot of progress. I do wish we woulda got more wins but for a second year team we surpassed expectations, the volleyball program in this school will really be something else in the future and i can not wait to see. Another thing I wish was that I had been in volleyball longer since I did learn many life lessons through volleyball that are applicable to other situations. Having a great team that got along well and very dedicated and amazing coaches that supported us made a great volleyball season. I will keep volleyball in my life.” In other words it was “Iconic”.

Erick Nevarez said “ Our volleyball season was interesting as we started our season stronger, we’d have bumps on the way that slowed us down but got through it. Not only together but as a team. We had great moments that we celebrated and moments that we didn’t . We had mistakes that we made but we ended up fixing together. In my opinion, it was a great season with the team and I will miss everybody that I’m going to be leaving. I learned so much from my coaches, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas. I also learned huge life lessons that will help me in the future because of them .”

Jared Barrera said, “This season has been crazy. I wouldn’t be a good volleyball player without the help of our coaches. They didn’t give up on us even though we made mistakes and they helped us through it all. I enjoyed this season and making memories with my friends.”
